There is a lot of misleading info regarding the release of this album. Essentially, the songs are all leftovers from the 1965 sessions that saw release as Smokin' at the Half Note. The songs on this album sat in the Verve vault until after Montgomery's death in 1968. In '69 they overdubbed wind and brass instruments on top of some of the extra songs and released them as Willow Weep For Me (V6 8765).
So although many discographies list this album as a 1965 release, it is in fact 1969.
