Many could argue that George Melly's Anything Goes is just one of a million "rat-pack" inspired jazz records, with music that befits any kind of smoky jazz club - and that isn't wrong, but I have to admit I really enjoy this album. His renditions of various standards are performed extremely well, although a lot of the charm found here is from John Chilton's Footwarmers.
