I Left My Heart in the Hillside

Through the dense fog of that quiet hillside, I still see my younger self chasing butterflies with best friends I don’t remember. Where they went I’ll never know. Their faces simply vacant spaces when they run by. I thought these memories would have been far buried, but still some of this heart remains in that old house on the hillside. It rots just like the wood.
