Annotation

The Kennedy Center Mary Lou Williams Women in Jazz Festival is an event to showcase some of the many contemporary women musicians. For each recording there is a featured woman performer who is highlighted as the artist. This was not done to detract from the writers or other performers, but to be true to the intent of the event.
