Annotation

Recording of two sacral work by Jean Gilles (1668-1705): the "Requiem2 (after 1697, premiere 1705) and "Diligam Te, Domine" (date unknown) performed by the Choeur et Orchestre de la Chapelle Royale, conducted by Philippe Herreweghe.
The CD booklet contains a brief historical essay (in French, English, and German) and the Latin text of the two pieces (with translation in F, E, and G).
