In collaboration with EMI Music Publishing and Warner Chappell Music France, Music Box Records presents for the first time on CD three soundtracks of films composed by Michel Magne, most of which have never been released on CD: La Ronde (1964), La Chasse à l ' man (1964) and A heart joy (1967).
Between Angélique Marquise des Anges and Fantômas , we find in the discography of Michel Magne this Roundwith a 4-star cast (Jane Fonda, Anna Karina, Jean-Claude Brialy…), and directed by Roger Vadim, one of the most flamboyant French filmmakers of this decade. On a splendid credits created by Maurice Binder, the main theme by Michel Magne plays the card of supreme and optimistic elegance, cheerfully pastiche the Mozartian style – that of the piano concertos in particular. As for the rest of the soundtrack, it includes many dances from the beginning of the 20th century (polkas, tangos, waltzes), arranged with just as much elegance, but also originality. This album also offers two other soundtracks by Michel Magne dating from the 1960s: La Chasse à l'homme (directed by Édouard Molinaro with Jean-Paul Belmondo) and À cœur joie(directed by Serge Bourguignon with Brigitte Bardot), containing an unreleased track as well as two pop songs performed by David "Pink Floyd" Gilmour.
This edition has been completely remastered from the original master tapes. The libretto notes are written by Nicolas Magenham.
